Finally starting to actually plan!!!
Alright. So basically i have been spending the last couple of days just going through each country and the field programs that SAS has to offer and decided which ones are possibilities and major things i want to do in each country! Here's what i have so far!
Dominica-
I plan to do a tour with a couple people from SAS. Basically just going hiking to waterfalls and snorkeling and such. I am SUPER excited for this!
Manuas, Brazil-
Not all to sure what i want to do here since I've heard there isn't much to do. SAS does not have field programs set up yet so when they do ill let you know what I'm thinking!
Ghana-
I am really excited about this one for some reason! I have a lot i want to see but as far as potential field programs i want to do...
-Mona monkeys and wli waterfalls (basically going to see a bunch of monkeys and then head to this gorgeous waterfall.
- habitat for humanity
- visit a orphanage
- village visit to someones house and see how they live
Cape town, South Africa-
I have a lot I want to do here!
- One day Safari **
- Cage dive with sharks!
- Sky Dive
- Visit table mountain, even if its just taking a car up there
- Visit Robben Island, I don't really want to do the field program there i would just like to go!
As for field programs..
- Wine production and Marketing (this would be for one of the courses i want to take, basically takes you through how the wine is made and how they sell the product and they allow you to do some wine tasting as well!)
- Operation Hunger
- Amy biehl service visit
(See i want to do a lot!)
Mauritius-
I SO wish we have more time hereeeee!!
-Catamaran and snorkeling
OR
- Adventure park and beach
I really want to explore Mauritius but i also want to spend some time on the beach and just relax. so I might not even do any programs at all and just catch a cab to the beach!
India-
- TAJ MAHAL (With SAS or by myself i DO NOT CARE i want to go so so so so so bad!! I have already seen Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world, and i really want to add two more on there with the taj mahal and the great wall of China!) **
- I 100% want to do the welcome reception, which the description is in the first post! **
- Kancheepuram seems really cool to go see on my own too!
Singapore-
- The largest zoo in Asia
- Visit the children's home
- Sentosa at Sunset **
- Little India
Vietnam-
- Visit the Nike manufacturing plant and learn how they run their business
- Cao Dai Temple*
- I also really want to travel to Cambodia although that is a pretty expensive trip and will take up a lot of my time there
- I want to go see a lot of the war memorials and such.
Hong Kong-
- DISNEYLAND!!!!! ** (Doubt my mom will let me though)
- Go to a healthy living workshop where they teach you techniques to live healthy hong kong style
- Beijing is somewhere i REALLY want to go also
- Great wall ** I don't want to go with SAS though, i would like to at least just be able to see it even if its from a distance
Shanghai, China-
- Meet with Shanghai university students the first night
- Def. want to see the Jade Buddha temple, which is a hugeeee shrine of Buddha that my mom would love for me to get pictures of.
- Kindergarten visit
Kobe, Japan-
-Japanese tea ceremony, something I REALLY want to do while in Japan ever since i saw it on America's next top model!
- Kyoto ** This is a MUST
- Hiroshima, I really want to do this i just heard the museum is extremely graphic so I'm a little worried how I'd handle it
Yokohama, Japan-
- Mt. Fuji, At least just see it at a decent distance
- I think it would be really cool to do the seminar which teaches Americans or other foreigners to Japan how to adapt to the business world in Japan. It just seems really cool since i would like to do business internationally
- Cultural Tokyo AND Modern Tokyo***. I def want to see the difference between the two but the itinerary doesn't exactly tell you how long we are going to be in Kobe and in Yokohama, they combine the two so i Def. hope I can do both here and if not i will probably go to modern Tokyo.
-Sony Building, heard some really cool things about there!
Last stop- Hilo, Hawaii-
-Just explore for sure
- Skydive if i we can find a place and i don't do it in South Africa
- Rainbow Falls... Gorgeous water fall that I'm dying to see!
- Relaxxxx
I will also be staying a couple extra days in San Diego since i have never been to California before and have always wanted to! My mom is going to come and pick me up out there I believe and we are just oging to explore for a couple days! Yay!
So basically this is what i have come up with so far, just have to put some final touches on it. I am SO excited, ugh, its insane. Now lets just hope some miracle happens and i get work study and some scholarships so i can actually afford to go on this trip!!!
